John Thommen is the founder and CEO of Ocean Marketing, Inc, one of the most highly respected marketing agencies in the boating and maritime industry.

Growing up in Norwalk, Connecticut, John Thommen started boating at a young age with his grandfather. He worked in boat yards as a kid and gained a real passion for being on the water.

John cut his teeth as a salesman working for Motorola, and went through the prestigious Xerox sales training school. He got his start in the Marine industry after attending a talk by Peter Sutton, who sailed around the world on the Yankee. Peter was a marine manufacturer’s representative, and he introduced John to the industry.
